Genomic selection is an important tool when VikingGenetics finds the genetically best bull calves for the breeding program. In VikingGenetics, we take out genomical tests of 500 Jersey bull calves per year, and the best 40 will be used in AI. We also produce embryos from the top genomically tested Jersey heifers.
